Kids’ second favorite thing after Christmas presents is stocking stuffers. Or maybe these come third, right after the Christmas holidays. Either way, if you want to surprise your kids with awesome stocking stuff you need get creative about it and get them something they never got before. The list starts here.
Fun stuff
Card games: Hardly any kid plays card games nowadays? Show people different. Kids love card games designed with creativity and the kind of card games that spark their imagination, stir their curiosity and keep them entertained.
Themed or smelly bandages: If you’ve never seen a kid get excited about bandages, then clearly you’ve been putting the wrong kind of bandage on your kid’s boo-boo. Try going for fun and colored ones: planets-themed, stars-themed, lady bug-themed, cartoons-themed etc. etc. Guarantee they’ll see a boo-boo where there’s no boo-boo just so they can have that silly bandage.
Stickers: A no-brainer stocking stuffer, stickers are even more fun when you customize. Take something that’s personal to your kid and have it cut to that design at a specialty retailer. Custom magnets and buttons fall into this category too.
Practical stuff with a fun twist
Smencils: Of course you know about them. They’re scented pencils that come with various gourmet scents and retailers assure the aroma lasts up to two years. They do have to be sealed after use though.
Whimsical characters flash drives: Take one stationery item, design with whimsical character and there you have it: a practical gift for your kid’s school or personal use. Some retailers even sell preloaded USBs that may contain wallpapers and various other types of content for your kid to explore.
Temporary tattoos: Children love temporary tattoos and they’re probably not very picky about them, but if you know yours are into space or have a soft spot for animals, surely you’ll want to go for these. Otherwise you can choose from a variety of options.
Non-toxic nail polish for the little girl in the family: A little mother and daughter, aunt and nice or sister to sister moment will go smoothly with some water-based nail polish that is completely safe for the little one. Girls will love it and adults can stop feeling guilty about poisoning children.
All other stuff
Christmas candy: No explanation needed here.
Socks: Socks for stocking stuffers? Why not? T-Rex, unicorn, mustache, there are all kinds of funky socks out there. Call them crazy, but kids love them.
Books: You can never have too many books and even if you did, there’s always the option to donate. True for children too, and they won’t mind getting a stuffed toy with that either.
Jump rope: It’s time you showed the kids old-style play time and a very good opportunity to test your memory and see how many of those jump rope songs from childhood you remember.
Christmas character bendables: They don’t make bendable figures just for people under a lot of stress. Character bendables are actually very popular with kids. Finger puppets too and they both make good stocking stuffers.
