London broil beef is a lean cut and commonly either flank or top-round steak. It is unsure where the name originates, but the term is also used in Canada to describe beef meat variations. It has no relation to England’s capital, however. It is a 100% American dish.

4. After that, rotate the meat at 45° without turning it over and cook for another three to four minutes. This will give the steak those attractive grill marks.
5. Turn the meat over and cook following the same procedure. It should take 10 to 12 minutes altogether to obtain a medium-rare London broil.
6. Let the steak rest for no longer than 10 minutes, then cut and serve either with plain or herb butter, softened at room temperature.
