New Year’s Eve Appetizers – Tips and Dips

Various things come into play around New Year’s Eve and too much to do, not enough time is one of them. And so, if you’re the one throwing the party or you’re the one who played host in previous years, you know then that it is tremendous effort to have to come up with inventive ideas for appetizers, desserts, probably full course meals too that don’t steal the little bit of time and energy you still have available, so shortly after Christmas.

And whether you’re throwing a glamorous party or just inviting a few close friends for an intimate gathering, food is important. It accompanies drinking which many of us do on the last day of the year.

But that’s not the only reason why it’s important although true, bad food mixed with drinking can be disastrous and not the way you’d want to ring in the New Year.

But food is important also because it’s part of our culture, part of cultures all around the world.

Some people believe eating certain foods on New Year’s Eve brings prosperity and good health.

Other people in other parts of the world believe simply having food on the table at midnight is important as it could bring some well deserved fortune in the future.

The point is that almost everyone is doing their best to have good food on the table on New Year’s Eve, even if that only means stepping into a new year with a happy belly and just that.

Buffet could be the better option

One of the best ideas for an easy preparation is doing a buffet and let guests help themselves at it. This way you won’t stress over serving meals yourself nor will you have to spend extra money hiring waiters to do that for you.

Buffet is always the better option over a served meal especially when you’re not preparing a formal event and if you’re not inviting many, many people.

Stick to easy recipes

You don’t have to spend a lot of time preparing standout New Year’s Eve snacks and meals. Stick to easy-to-make recipes that have proven their worth on and on. Here are five appetizers that everyone will love.

  • Pizza rolls – easy to make and versatile, pizza rolls are an excellent appetizer option. Stuff with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese for meat lovers or create your own vegetarian option for everyone else.
  • Meatballs – again a recipe that you can play with in so many ways, meatballs are great when you need to feed a larger crowd with something hearty and easy to make. Wrap them in bacon, serve them with a tasty sauce or a cheese dressing and you’re off the hook.
  • Stuffed mushrooms – great recipe for serving people who pass on meat or you can have a meaty version and stuff mushrooms with sausage or a meat of your choice.
  • Wrapped shrimps – a popular wrap for shrimps is always bacon but you can also use prosciutto if you want more variety.
  • Chicken wings – no one will complain about chicken wings ever, and if you want to make this appetizer more festive, go for a variety of them: caramelize, cook Asian-style, prepare different dips and fry twice for the perfect texture.

And these are just five ideas for appetizers that are really easy to make and perfect for feeding both small and larger crowds.
