Candy Sale, Candy Sale, But What Else Can You Buy Cheaper after Halloween?

Intolerant to fructose and sugar but always up for a good deal?

After Halloween-sale isn’t just for sugar addicts who say they’re stocking up for next year’s trick-or-treating but are actually secretly clearing off the candy in the pantry day by day. Wink-wink.

No, if you know where to look, you too can score a nice deal on any number of the following items that retailers also mark down after the spookiest holiday of the year has ended and all the fairies and the witches have retreated to wherever it is that fairies and witches retreat to once the clock strikes holiday-end every October 31st.

After every Halloween, retailers are quick to clear off shelves of any Halloween-themed merchandise and candy because they have to make room for cold season and Christmas holiday merchandise.

  • Candy prices drop to at least 50% off and more the next couple of weeks after the Halloween week.
  • Costumes are marked down even by as much as 80%.
  • Décor items are sold up to 70% off but there are other items too that retailers sell cheaper right after the holiday. For example, Target marked down girls’ dresses last year, from $12.99 regular price to $3.89 clearance price.

What to do with that entire post-Halloween sale stuff

So you are a cost conscious shopper and you never buy stuff you know you are never going to use. But there’s a lot you can do with all that Halloween merchandise and if you need some ideas on how to put everything to good use, here they are.

The candy stuff – Any upcoming birthdays or special events? Why not make your own candy basket with Halloween sweets and offer as gift? Or if you’re throwing someone a birthday party, particularly a smaller someone in your family, you can use Halloween candy as party favors.

There’s also the option to keep Halloween candy for Christmas stockings. Like kids are ever going to notice they’re from Halloween. OK, some might, but it’s still candy and it’s still going into their tummies. They’re not going to care.

The clothing stuff – Halloween costumes will be extremely cheap because nobody is going to walk the streets dressed up as Super Mario or Kung Fu Panda after Halloween. And if you’re someone who doesn’t like dressing up, you can still use costumes creatively. Make it a Christmas present.

Also, maybe you’ve got a friend marrying soon. Did you know that some couples love doing funny, silly things together? Throw them a couples Halloween costume gift next to the fancy cutlery or glassware and they’ll love you for it later.

The candles stuff – Here’s something to buy really cheap after Halloween sales that you don’t need anyone telling you how to use. But just in case you’re short of ideas, Christmas decorating can never be too cozy or intimate.

Disposable items – Think of all the times you took out your best china at the Christmas party or any other party for that matter and your people and your people’s people made you feel sorry that you did. Keep the fine chine for intimate Christmas meals and take out the paper plates and the plastic cups for boozy parties. You’ll find these insanely cheap.
